Over the coming weeks, several Cromer businesses will be reopening their
doors for the first time since closing with barely any notice in March.
Many are anxious and apprehensive about how the ‘new normal’ will work and
are doing their very best to keep themselves, their customers, staff and families
safe.
Most of our businesses are owned or managed by one person, money is tight
and there are no corporate teams or chains of shops to test ideas before rolling
them out.
So please, if you see something you feel isn’t quite right, rather than recording
or taking pictures in order to ‘shame’ them online – please speak to the owners
or staff. It may be that the mistake is a simple oversight that they can quickly
rectify or that more people have turned up at once than expected. Owners and
managers are learning and adapting as quickly as they can and greater setbacks
caused by online shaming will only delay this.
Finally, we’re all incredibly grateful for the community support shown to local
businesses during this time and encourage you to continue shopping locally
wherever you can.
Cromer businesses will need your support more than ever in the months that
follow lockdown and we look forward to welcoming you back safely & soon.
Thank You
